practice of making

ABOUT

I am a mother and a self-taught visual artist. I make paintings, many of which come from my dreams or are interpretations of them.

I was born in New Jersey and studied storytelling in New York. I later moved to Los Angeles, where I found the dharma. Back in New York, I worked in downtown theater for a decade. Now I find myself in the Hudson Valley.

My work is informed by my ongoing attempt to practice the dharma in everyday life. I am drawn to ritual and iconography, the human body, uncanny things, and the cycles of life and death.

I am interested in how we use images, stories, and symbols to touch what can’t always be put into words. Everything I make is an attempt to look beyond our concepts and touch what is true.
